What is Truth Rising: The Study?

It is free digital small group study, featuring video lessons by John Stonestreet, designed to deepen engagement with the film’s themes.

This study includes four teaching videos with John Stonestreet, a PDF of a facilitator guide, and a PDF of a participant guide. Each lesson includes the “big idea” and Scripture focus, key quotes, plus additional resources from the Colson Center for Christian Worldview & Focus on the Family.

As we recommend you watch the full film together, we recommend a 6-week plan.

  • Week 1: Watch the full film
  • Weeks 2–5: Go through study videos and questions
  • Week 6: Final recap and discussion

Each lesson includes a “facilitator prep” section. Additional background information for the video content is provided so you can lead a group discussion with confidence.

No advance prep is needed, but every participant is encouraged to create a Truth Rising: The Study account. The Participant Guide outlines each session with prayers, video time, and discussion questions.

Each of the four teaching videos for Truth Rising: The Study is between 20-25 minutes long. The videos will be available via digital streaming in 4K format.
